Cities in Transformation: Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize includes 11 inspiring, transformative stories of cities and communities, with practical and impactful urban solutions and ideas that can be adapted across the world.
The book features two Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Laureates and nine Special Mentions from 2010 and 2012. Since 2009, this prestigious international biennial prize has raised awareness on the role of governance, leadership and strong public-private-people partnership in transforming lives. Prize Laureates such as Bilbao (2010) and New York City (2012) have shown that bold leadership and creative solutions can turn cities around. Special Mention megacities such as Delhi and Ahmedabad offer real hope in tackling the most challenging issues of housing, transport and pollution, while Copenhagen and Malmö provide valuable lessons on sustainable development and close collaboration across national boundaries. The book is made possible with sponsorship from Keppel Corporation.
